Historical Data: Peremys'kyj (-Zahorods'kyj) Deanery, then Medyc'kyj Deanery after World War I. The wooden church was built in 1862/67, replacing an older wooden church of the same name which existed at least as early as [1828]. It is now destroyed.

In 1785 there were 1.55 sq km., 265 Ukrainian Catholics, no Latin rite Catholics and 25 Jews in the area. In 19-38 there were 2-3 Latin rite Catholics and 20 Jews in the arm

BASHNJA DOLISHNA (Basznia), povit Chesaniv, then Ljubachiv after 1919

Historical Data: Ljubachvs'kyj Deanery. The wooden church was built in 1644 and renovated in 1885. The masonry church, built in 1904, was destroyed after World War II.

In 1785 there were in Bashnja dolishna and horishna and Borova hora together 48.69 sq km., 1,450 Ukr. Catholics, 240 Latin rite Catholics and 25 Jews.
In 1938 there were 899 Latin rite Catholics, 162 Jews and 81 Protestants in the area.

BATJATYCHI (Batjatycze), povit Zhovkva

Historical Data: Zhovkivs'kyj, then Velykomostens'kyj Deanery after World War I and Kulykivs'kyj Deanery in [1939]. The wooden church was built in 1788 and renovated in 1900.

In 1938 there were 2,620 Latin rite Catholics, 360 Jews and 51 others in the area.

Batjatychi - St. George The wooden church was built in 1795. It seems not to have been used by Ukrainian Catholics at first and is not reported until [1899]. Statistics in matre.
Zdeshiv - St. John the Theologian        8 km from Batjatychi The church was built in 1900. Statistics in matre.

Dal'nych 5 km from Batjatychi. The chapel was shared with Latin rite Catholics.

BAKHIR (Bachurz), povit Bereziv

Historical Data: Birchans'kyj Deanery, then Dynivs'kyj Deanery after World War I. The masonry church was built in 1846 and was renovated in 1833. A masonry rectory with 5 rooms and a kitchen, was built in 1891. Nothing of the church now remains. On January 23, 1593, the owner, Katerina Waposka, ordered that all of the people in Izdebky, Lubna, Hludno, Bakhir Varja and the suburb of Dyniv would all have to become Latin rite, and that all baptisms would have to be performed by a Latin rite priest. The parish in Bakhir-Dyniv was re-established in 1645 by the owner of the villages, Nicholas Waposki. The church in Dyniv was so diminished that in 1812, after the death of the pastor, o. Teodor Ibovych, it was made a filial church. 37

The parish was incorporated into the Administration of Lemkivshchyna in 1934.

In 1785 there were 9.43 sq km., 109 Ukrainian Catholics, 347 Latin rite Catholics and 17 Jews in the area. In 1936 there were c. 10,000 Latin rite Catholics and c. 1,200 Jews in the area.

Dyniv - St. George 5 km from Bakhir The masonry church (now destroyed) was built in 1910, replacing an older wooden church which had been built in 1844. It was an independent parish until 1812, when it was made a filial church of Bakhir In 1878-1880, there was a mass transition to the Latin rite. In 1785 there were 15.29 sq km., 120 Ukr. Catholics, 1,493 Latin rite Catholics and 590 Jews. Parish.

Ljaskivka 3 km from Bakhir
In 1785 there were 9.16 sq km., 155 Ukrainian Catholics. 155 Latin rite Catholics and 19 Jews in the area.   116 faithful reported in [ 1934]. Other statistics in matre.
Kosteva 3 km from Bakhir
In 1785 there were 9.78 sq km., 284 Ukrainian Catholics, 100 Latin rite Catholics and 7 Jews in the area. 686 faithful reported in [1934]. Other statistics in matre.

1892, the whole village of Ujanycja passed to the Latin rite.

BAKHIV (Bachow), povit Peremyshl'

Historical Data: Porokhnyc'kyj Deanery. The church was built in 1842, replacing an earlier chapel owned by Countess Carolina Dembinska. It is now destroyed. After the death of the pastor, o. Jakiv Paslavs'kyj, the parish was made a chapel. The last pastor, o. Anatol' Sembratovych was killed during the ethnic cleansing in 1945.³⁸

In 1785 there were 19.39 sq km., 600 Ukrainian Catholics, 150 Latin rite Catholics and 21 Jews in the area. In 1938 there were 660 Latin rite Catholics and 74 Jews in the area.

BAKHNOVATE (Bachnowate, Bahnowate), povit Turka

Historical Data: Vysochans'kyj Deanery. The church was built in 1929, replacing an older wooden church which existed at least as early as [1828].

In 1785 there were 16.15 sq km., 145 Ukrainian Catholics, 15 Latin rite Catholics and 9 Jews in the area. In 1938 there were 3 Latin rite Catholics and 80 Jews in the area.

Filial Churches - St. Michael 3 km. from Bakhnovate. The wooden church was built in 1850 and renovated in 1913. In 1785 there were 6.65 sq km., 412 Ukrainian Catholics, 41 Latin rite Catholics and 10 Jews.

2. Moldavs'ko - Presentation of the BVM 5.5 km. from Bakhnovate. The wooden church was built in 1913, In 1785 there were 3.58 sq km., 75 Ukrainian Catholics, no Latin rite Catholics and 8 Jews. Parish. 1840: 109 1859: 80

BELZ (Betz), povit Sokal'

Historical Data: Belz'kyj Deanery. Betz belonged to the Eparchy of Kholm until 1772, the time of the first partition of Poland when the new boundary placed it in the Russian Empire. In fact, the official title of the Eparchy of Kholm was Kholm and Betz", which was retained even after Betz was transferred to the Eparchy of Peremyshl'. The church was built in 1623-35 and was renovated in 1900. The cemetery chapel of St. Paraskevija was built in the 18th century.

In 1938 there were 2,335 Latin rite Catholics (parishes in Betz and Prusyniv) and 3,511 Jews in the area.

Prusyniv - Exaltation of the Holy Cross 5 km from Belz. The wooden church was built in 1878, replacing an earlier church of the same name, and was renovated in 1930.
