Ascension of Our Lord

HICHVA
The three domed tserkva in Hichva stood tall for sometime after W.W.II. Now and again, someone would fly a Ukrainian national flag on the tallest cross. Since the authorities could not reach and remove the flag, they used a machine gun to shoot it down. About the year 1965 the tserkva was taken apart. Now only a pile of broken bricks and old linden trees mark the spot.
